The start of ski season

Every year you have to wait so long until you can ski again. You may be asking why I even bother skiing but I ski because it’s so fun, it is one of my favourite sports and I have been doing it since I was 6 years old. I have been skiing in many different places around the world such as Austria, Switzerland, France, Scotland, and Azerbaijan.

Every year our school has its own ski team which goes to the Shahdag Mountain resort. Last year the ski season was so fun and there were a lot of funny moments with my friends that I will remember for a long time. With ski season just around the corner, there will definitely be more laughs to come. You may think that falling and wiping out in skiing is painful but for me, that is what makes it fun and enjoyable. Last year my group had a lot of people that were all my friends and we didn’t listen to our coach and decided to fool around at the back. I remember everyone crashing to each other and making a domino-like effect just like it was yesterday. I am not the kind of skier who can do many tricks but I like to carve and pick up speed. One of my best friends that were there witnessing the joy of skiing with me was James who was nicknamed “Crazy James” after making everyone crash into each other.

The only thing that I am dreading for this ski season is going to be the rooming. Some of us actually want to sleep and then we have that one person(James) who keeps everyone in the room awake. Then the next day we are all super tired!

My favourite memories of last Year’s ski season was when I was skiing and I saw James fall down. I started Laughing but then I realised…….that his skis had come off and landed right in front of me, I tried to dodge them but It was too late and then I flipped over in mid-air and I caught Louie’s(another friend) ski poles that he had dropped. Another memory that I remember was when James cooked the worst noodles ever! They tasted so bad, mainly because he put the spices and sauce raw! For some reason, Gene or James spilt the noodles all over the beds and I had to sleep on the floor.

I simply cannot wait for the ski season to begin! I hoped you enjoyed reading my first blog.
